Graylog 3.0 OVA not getting DHCP on XEN

Hi,

I imported the graylog 3.0 VM into my XEN environment but when it boots the eth0 interface is down and when I bring it up using netplan commands it doesn’t get a DHCP address.

I tried following the documentation where it says adding a static IP to /etc/network/interfaces but that didn’t work.

I also tried adding a static IP to the yaml file in /etc/netplan and applying it but that didn’t work.

Is there anything I should look at in the first boot scripts or elsewhere?

the OVA is Ubuntu 18.04 LTS - with added Graylog and all dependencies. Just debug like you would do with any other Ubuntu.
