Upgrade from 3.1 to version 3.1.3 on Debian orig from OVA

Dear All,
currently I am running version 3.1.0+aa5175e and I want to upgrade to the latest. I found version 3.1.3 is the latest. Is there anywhere a documentation how to do ? Originally I installed this server from OVA. Till now I downloaded the latest.deb and doing some “apt”. Can’t find such a file anymore. But I found there is a “tgz”. Is it good enough to extract this archive over the existing directory structure ?

Kind regards
Hans

as the 3.1 OVA is just an ubuntu system that is pre-installed, you can actually use the ubuntu based upgrade notes.

Just apt-get update && apt-get upgrade is your friend.

Dear Jan,

Many thanks for this information. I update my server as you wrote. It did a lot of upgrades. Exactly 337 but not graylog. I made a reboot.
If I go to -> System -> Node -> Details I see still 3.1.0+aa5175e, codename Quantum Dog

Are there other options ?

you would actually work the way that is described here: https://docs.graylog.org/en/3.1/pages/upgrade.html#upgrading-graylog-originally-installed-from-image

If that does not work, I have no idea what the problem might be.

Many thanks. I found it. I followed these instructions:
https://docs.graylog.org/en/3.1/pages/installation/operating_system_packages.html#operating-package-upgrade-deb-apt
Everything is on 3.1.4 now.
