Suddenly the graylog delete index configuration is not working

Suddenly the graylog delete index configuration is not working.
In the graylog logs the following traces are observed:
2022-09-08 05:39:54,962 INFO [IndexRetentionThread] - Elasticsearch cluster not available, skipping index retention checks. - {}
We have also observed an excessive memory consumption of the graylog pod in the last days.

Can anybody help me?

First, there is not a lot of information to go on to help.
Second, that’s a INFO log stating that Elasticsearch is not available, that would be my first clue in troubleshooting.
