Graylog compatible to Tanzu Platform

Hi There,

Is Graylog compatible to VMware / Tanzu Platform?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Can you elaborate on what specifically you’re looking for when it comes to compatibility? There are a number of users here in the community who use VMWare on a daily basis, and probably quite a few who are using their Tanzu offering. If you can qualify your question, that might help.

For example, if you’re asking if you can send logs to Graylog using VMWare or more specifically, Tanzu, the question you’ll likely get is, “How are you sending logs now?” If you’re using syslog, great! Graylog runs a syslog input specifically designed to ingest syslog-formatted messages. Just doing a quick Google search led me to Configuring Logging in TAS for VMs | VMware Tanzu Docs in Tanzu’s docs, which all seem to be pointing toward using Syslog to ship messages to an application like Graylog. That said, I’ll say a qualified “yes” that Graylog is compatible–the qualification being that as long as VMware/Tanzu can ship syslog, gelf, or hell, we’ll take plaintext if that’s all the platform can ship, then yes, the two are compatible.
