Upgrade Path 2.5.2 -> 3.2

Hello - we’re using Graylog 2.5.2 right now and are looking to get upgrade to the latest version, which I believe is 3.2. Is there an update path I need to follow to safely make it to 3.2 without issues?

Check the docs.
There were a lot of changes, so I suggest do it step-by-step (maybe it need 5 more minutes…)

Graylog went from 2.5 to 3.0, so you are not too far behind… check the release notes for the changes that may affect your instance.

changes are here:
https://docs.graylog.org/en/3.2/pages/changelog.html#graylog-2-5-2

scroll up… good luck

Much appreciated! I’ve started on this today, but ran into some issues trying to upgrade ElasticSearch to a supported version.

Any indication what this error relates to? This happens after update updated ES to 6.8 and prevents ES from starting:

020-04-22 13:42:01,011 main ERROR Unable to invoke factory method in class org.apache.logging.log4j.core.appender.RollingFileAppender for element RollingFile: java.lang.IllegalStateException:

did you follow the process on elastic for upgrading to 6.8?

https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.8/setup-upgrade.html

what version were you on?
