1. Describe your incident:
I have made an install of graylog 6.1 in Rocky 9, following the guide Red Hat Installation

All services, mongodb, data-node and graylog are in the same server.

Everything was OK, but when I start all services (mongodb, data-node and graylog) and I get into de configuration web page (preflight) I cannot see the data node.

No data nodes have been found

Different changes in config files did’t work.

Hi @Ignacion,
Is there anything suspicious in the datanode logs (probably located in /var/log/graylog-datanode/datanode.log)? I assume that the datanode is crashing for some reason and then it’s not visible in the preflight interface.

Best regards,
Tomas

Thank you Thomas. I haven’t seen anything in the data node log.
The data node has been configured following the guide. I’m now trying another solution. I’m installing graylog with self-managed opensearch and later I’ll try to migrate it to Data Node.

Sure, why not. But if your data node has problems starting now, it will probably have these problems later during the migration as well. If you want, you can upload your datanode log and I’ll have a look if there are some hints.

Unfortunally you were right. I’m trying to migrate to datanode now, and still the same problem.

Hey @Ignacion,
if you share your data node logs and ideally also server logs, I can have a look and maybe we’ll discover why your data nodes are not starting and/or staying alive.

Feel free to redact anything that could be sensitive.

Without logs, I am afraid, there isn’t anything I can suggest to help you. I need more information.

Best regards,
Tomas

Thank you very much, Thomas. You’re very kind with your support.

Finally I have chose the standalone installation, completely clean. Now it doesn’t even raise the master node. I don’t understand why.

I hope that the configuration file and the logs provide something more.

IP means the machine ip.

I found the trick. All is a dns problem. I found the solution here. DNS is working, but when i put my machine in /etc/hosts everything is ok.
