I use MongoDB Atlas and I’ve been using the 4.0.14 version with no issues.
MongoDB Atlas have now announced that the version will be bumped to 4.2 in the next couple of weeks.
Does Graylog support 4.2?
https://docs.graylog.org/en/3.1/pages/installation.html shows that MongoDB 3.6 or 4.0 are supported.
Doesn’t mention if 4.x is supported.

Check the hint at the end of the page what you linked.
It work with 4.2 without problem if it’s in 4.0 compatibility mode.
actually the main problem is that the used driver for the connection is not well maintained so we need to switch that but that will not happen before the 3.2 release because we need to really test that and have this stable in the product.
