I have been able to enable the message option but when attempting to use any subcatagory I receive the attached error. It is the same exact issue as this earlier one; Error with "message" and "source" fields
I am currently working on getting the logs but right now I am being rejected due to permissions even though I am logging in with the admin/root account that came with the OVA from graylog website.
what version of Graylog did you use?
Virtual Appliance OVF 2.4.5
What is the content of your Graylog server.log ( http://docs.graylog.org/en/2.4/pages/configuration/file_location.html#omnibus-package ) That should reveal the reason for this 500 error.
