Journal Directory mount on RAM

Hi all,

I am trying to find possible ways to improve the performance during peak hours in our graylog nodes, i wondering if its possible to mount journal directory (default path :/var/lib/graylog-server/journal ) on a RAM based file system like tmpfs ( i have plenty of ram on those boxes ).

I know that if the node goes down the messages in journal will be lost but its not an issue for me. Any thoughts about that ? Anyone tested on live environment. ?

Thanks in advance!

Why not disable the disk journal completely if you don’t care about the messages?
