When adding a “Static Field” to an Input, it would be really useful is the assigned value to the field doesn’t have to also be static. If I setup a Global Beats Input, I could have 1, 3, 7 etc. Nodes all running the same input. It would be helpful if I could setup a static field globally, and assign it a value that comes from the local host. For example, “beats_receiver” could be populated with “${HOST}” and now I have a permanent record of which of the nodes received and indexed that logged event.
I’d suggest visiting the Github page (https://github.com/Graylog2/graylog2-server) and opening a feature request issue 
to be honest - the information what Graylog Node in the cluster received the message is already available in the “hidden” field called gl2_source_node
