How to Efficiently Configure Log Rotation in Graylog?

Hi Community,

I am looking for some advice on best practices for configuring log rotation in Graylog to manage disk usage effectively. Currently;, I have a setup where logs are piling up and I am concerned about running out of storage.

Graylog version: 5.0
Logs stored on a dedicated 2TB disk.
I’m using Elasticsearch for the data backend.

What I want to achieve:

Implement automatic log rotation to keep storage under control.
Ensure old logs are archived without affecting live system performance.
Maintain easy access to archived logs for compliance purposes.

I have also some Questions:

What’s the ideal configuration for log retention and rotation in Graylog: ??
How do I set up archiving for rotated logs to an external storage: ??
Are there any pitfalls or performance impacts I should watch out for: ??

I would appreciate any insights, examples or resources to streamline this process !! I have also read this thread https://community.graylog.org/t/2-4-6-log-rotation-mulesoft but still need some guidance and tips.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Looking forward to learning from this awesome community.

With Regards,
Daniel Jose
