Filebeat Agent Compatibility Matrix

Hi everyone,

I have a question.

The Filebeat agent version that comes with Graylog 6.3 (Windows Server) and Sidecar is too old for productive use in my environment. It is version 8.9.0, built in July 2023 — so it’s already more than two years old.

Is there a compatibility matrix between Filebeat agents and Graylog?
And how about the latest Filebeat agents in the 9.x series — are they supported?
Or do we need to put Logstash in between to ensure full compatibility?

Work on implementing 9.x into Sidecar is underway, in the meantime you could try use 9.x by creating a new collector configuration and altering the executable path to account for a separate beats install.
