Use Graylog 3.1 teaming up with newer versions?

As I see Graylog 4 announces Dark Theme support, but still doesn’t care about being user friendly and being efficient as it was in 3.1 (no QuickValues, no Combined graphs, no proper Statistics table, even counter of matched records need to add manually)
So we get whistles and bells instead of focusing on the UX.

Dear @konrad and @jan is there some way we can use Graylog 3.3/4.0 as a backend(let them handle ingestion/processing/ES7) and 3.1 as frontend(only for search)?
