A simple suggestion: I am now using Graylog to process Netflow/IPfix information.
It would be really useful to have a feature to change the sign of a metric when defining it. So that, for instance, I can create a compact chart with ingress and egress traffic volumes well represented.
Also, I am trying to build a histogram using a scatter plot representing a distribution of round trip times (in this case for DNS responses) and I have been forced to round the values to integer numbers. Not a tragedy because in this case I am interested on magnitudes of milliseconds, but it would be nice to have a specific histogram chart.
I forgot, a “rate” option for metrics would be nice. So that if, for example, I am representing transmitted bytes I can obtain a bytes per second value instead of having to calculate it myself by dividing the number of bytes (or whatever) by the bucket size.
These are great ideas, please think about raising them each separately as feature requests here. That way the devs can evaluate them and should they be picked up you can track the progress.
Nice. Just spent some time filing three issues and two of them are gone it seems. No idea what happened, I haven’t received any “spam” complaint or anything.
At least I can’t see two of them on the issues list. Not even searching for myself as an author.
I saw them an hour or so later, but it seems that I opened three issues too quickly and some rate limit thing kept them hidden from the general view despite searching for issues with myself as the author.
Anyway no harm done. I thought some Github cookie monster had eaten them
