Hello the forum!
I have Linux and Windows sources, for which I want to use Syslog and NXlog respectively.
Can you tell me what resource consumption (CPU, network…) I should expect on the sources?
Negligible or not negligible?
Thanks.

Hello,
I use NXlog on my Linux and Windows servers . Below is a light load on a Hyper-V node, it will rise a little during a heavy load but not much. I have verbose logging disabled in my environment to cut down on traffic. I dont know about the other log shippers maybe someone here can give you stats on that.
Network
Memory
Hope that helps.
Thank you very much, that’s exactly what I needed !
To better interpret the 1% CPU load:
About the last screenshot “memory”:
Hello,
Are you refering to my Graylog server? If so that doesnt make a difference to nxlog on my Hyper-V server. Hyper-V server is not a VM its hardware. As for our VM’s with NXlog on them they are the same stats. Most, if not all VM’s have 4CPU’s and 4 GB RAM.
We have all three (mostly 2019) and they all run the same stats as shown above.
No you dont have to adjust that. NXlog basiclly using 6.5 MB of memory. I wouldnt worry to much, maybe if it was 20 years ago thou
Hope that helps.
