Graylog software upgrade 5.1.12 to 6.0 procudure

Hi all,
received notification to do software upgrade 6.1.0 stable version in Graylog central Dashboard
question 1 : is it necessay to do software upgrade ? to clear this notification
qiestion 2: what are risk involved in this if we ignore this or do later
question3: how to turn of this notification ?

I looking for details software upgrade steps and lesson learnt for software upgrade 5.1.12 to 6.1.x

received notification to do software upgrade 6.1.0 stable version

3 Graylog server env and 3 Elk and 1 Mondo DB

  • OS Information:
    OS version Ubuntu 22.04

  • Package Version:
    current version 5.1.12
    : ELK (7.10.2 ) and MongoDB (6.0.8)

  • Service logs, configurations, and environment variables:
    NA

3. What steps have you already taken to try and solve the problem?

NA, plan to do upgrade and prepared doc

Minimal update to the following major releases like 5.2, 6.0 and so on, the all make some changes to the graylog system.

Read the update notices and especially look at the server.conf file and solve the differences between those files after each update.

Make a backup of mongodb with mongodump between updates (we always do)

As far as I know your mongoDB is already the right one for 6.0.
