Hey Stephen, the reason is that your build runs as root. npm refuses to perform script tasks when run as root, which is necessary for the graylog-web-plugin module to be transpiled properly. Please run your build as a non-privileged user. Kind regards, D.

You only need Java 8 (JDK) and Maven 3.1 or higher to build Graylog. It’s pretty much only 2 steps: Clone the repository at https://github.com/Graylog2/graylog2-server . Run mvn install. If that doesn’t work for you, you need to elaborate on the issues you’re having.
