1. Describe your incident:
Graylog webpage is very laggy, widgets fail to load.

2. Describe your environment:

  • OS Information: RHEL 9 64GB Memory, 16CPU running in a Hyper-V cluster

  • Package Version: 6.1

  • Service logs, configurations, and environment variables:

2025-06-10T14:55:09.061-04:00 INFO [OpensearchProcessImpl] [2025-06-10T14:55:09,060][WARN ][o.o.s.b.SearchBackpressureService] [graylog2.local] [monitor_only mode] cancelling task [2776] due to high resource consumption [heap usage exceeded [1.3gb >= 1gb]]

3. What steps have you already taken to try and solve the problem?
Increased Heap sizes from 2g to 8g to 16g

Icreased the heap of what? Because both opensearch and graylog have seperate heap settings. Also are you using datanode?

So yes, I changed the opensearch_heap = 8g and the -XMs8g

And I am using version 6.1 which uses datanode.

Update: Still receiving the error and have around 500 devices reporting logs. Mainly Windows/GELF and Syslog from network switches. The web interface is also extremely slow and timeout errors happen frequently.
