Graylog and IDRAC (DELL)

Hi all,

I try to configure Graylog to receive Syslog from an idrac console (Dell servers).

I create a Syslog UDP input, on port 5145.
I configure syslog on idrac to ip:5145, but when I send a test message nothing happens

I have a similar config with switchs, and everything works.

I checked Dell documentation, and found nothing special.

Anyone has already test idrac syslog with Graylog ?

I use iDRAC 9 and graylog UDP input with no problem at all.

1. Check if your firewall don’t block connection from iDRAC to graylog box on specified port.
2. Also setup correct timezone and NTP setting in iDRAC configuration. It’s mandatory to have time in sync
3. Check your graylog’s log, maybe there is and error why graylog don’t process iDRAC message
   sudo tail -f /var/log/graylog-server/server.log
