assuming you use the offical docker image ( [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/5.6/docker.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/5.6/docker.html) ) you might get your logfile with `docker logs <container-name>` like described in the docker documentation [https://docs.docker.com/engine/reference/commandline/logs/#description](https://docs.docker.com/engine/reference/commandline/logs/#description)
